Y V Indrani leads IRA International School with a focus on joyful, values-first education — where every child is known by name, encouraged to try, and challenged to do their best.

She spends her days in the classrooms rather than behind a desk: observing lessons, sitting in on early-years circles, and supporting teachers to plan work that meets each child where they are. Small, focused class sizes mean she can keep a close eye on how every learner is progressing, in academics as well as in confidence, curiosity and independence.

Under her leadership the school follows the CBSE curriculum while holding on to what makes the first years special — play-based discovery, phonics, strong values and plenty of room for children to make mistakes and try again. She works closely with parents as partners in a child's progress, and believes a school is at its best when families and staff walk the same road together.
